The KYOKU 8" Chef Knife, part of the Shogun Series, is expertly forged from Japanese VG10 steel surrounded by 67 layers of Damascus steel and hammer-beaten to a custom wave pattern. Quenched, tempered, and hand-honed using traditional sharpening methods, this culinary weapon can be wielded with pride, as each blade is unique. Beloved by professionals for its ergonomic pinch-grip handle, the KYOKU 8" Chef Knife allows users to effortlessly slice through meat, fish, and vegetables.
The apex of modern Japanese cutlery, KYOKU knives are made of cryogenically-hardened VG-10 steel wrapped between Damascus steel folded 33 times, retaining an ultrafine edge and resisting corrosion to outlast the competition. In addition to the 8" Chef Knife, the KYOKU collection includes a 3.5" Paring Knife, 6" Utility Chef Knife, 7" Boning Knife, 7" Nakiri Knife, and 7" Vegetable Cleaver.
Each KYOKU blade is cryogenically treated using the traditional 3-step Honbazuke method, resulting in incredible hardness, flexibility, and corrosion resistance. The hollow-edge design ensures nothing sticks to the blade. Time-honored sword making methods give each Kyoku custom knife a unique appearance, resulting in a thinner, harder, and sharper blade than western knives. KYOKU blends ultramodern technology with ancient craftsmanship to create a scalpel-thin blade edge with powerful non-stick performance.
The KYOKU knives' exclusive appearance is accented by a hammer-beaten wave pattern that gives way to a traditional Damascus steel design. The ergonomic handles are artistically accented with an engraved mosaic pin, revealing the knives' luxurious identity. The full-tang construction, with the metal blade extending the entire length of the handle, allows the knives to withstand punishing daily use without sacrificing comfortable handling and balanced performance.
